Globalization causes a lot of changes toward all aspects in this entire world either negative or positive effects. Instead of all positivity and negativity, globalization itself can’t be avoided because it just automatically came out in our surroundings. As a student and millennial, I see and realize a lot of advantages caused by globalizations era especially in certain aspects such as technological development, cultural deployment and economic development. Globalization lead the universe become unite so easily, everyone nowadays can exchange any cultures from both domestic and overseas because the network access keeps increasing and getting easier. That’s how others culture comes out to Indonesia easily through huge accessed from internet network. According to William H. Haviland, culture is a set of rules and norms that are shared by members of the public, which if carried out by its member will bear behavior deemed feasible and can be received by all communities. Culture define the original identity which facing the globalization so the changes and revolutions just really appears. Culture involves several aspects such as fashion, food, and music.

Korean Style

First is Fashion. It has been globalize into the reference mode that influenced by the current mode of outfit style, make up, and language which most affects the woman. Basically according to Wikipedia, fashion is a popular aesthetic expression in a certain time and context, especially in clothing, footwear, lifestyle, accessories, makeup, hairstyle and body proportions. They become more consumptive while their daily needs keep increasing up in order to fulfill their shopping sense that following the brand. We literally easy to found a lot of department store which sell various product categories such as clothes, make up, accessories, or even food market Instead of global fashion that support us to always look nice and up to date yet this kind of changes also have the bad impacts which is mostly people forget and leave traditional clothes and our domestic production also under the western style production or other overseas production. That is the Korean style that comes in into Indonesian especially teenagers and young adult woman. How they dressed up, what kind of clothes they warn are influenced by cross culture from Korea which themed as casual but chic as well. Then, the way woman make up their face also having a Korean sense which is using straight eyebrows, glowly looks yet doing some complex skin care. Korean culture comes out to Indonesian also carried by the idols who have a lot of Indonesian fans such as boyband, gild band or even movie actors. They have huge influence toward Indonesian fans who always copied anything as long as look same like the idols including the outfit, language or make up.

Example of Fast Food

The second is food.  Since globalization takes over the world, people tend to both buy and cook food from other countries than the local food. The most famous foreign food company is United States food business which produce the fast – food so it increase the level of laziness consumer. United States food trends create the first product of fast food which is McDonald that built on 1955 by Rey Kroc in Des Plaines, Illinois. As the time flies, a lot of fast food restaurant can be found in everywhere while the lower level of fast food is called by junk food. Basically fast food is a food that so fast because it has been carried out in the early stages of processing and has little or even no nutrients, but has an excessive amount of calories and fat. For example are burger, pizza, french fries, fish and chips or even mi instant. Those are faster and easier to be cooked than the real food but it causes people become unhealthier of that composition with the damages such are headache, obesity, stomachache or even cancer. Usually fast food become favorite especially for teenagers and children that supposed to eat food with huge nutrition for the growth. The experts reveal that the compositions of any fast food is really dangerous for human health both in long and short term but it could not avoided because mostly those who eat fast food are they who really busy and have no much time so they still can eat delicious without spending much time.

K-POP

The third is about music. Music was aimed to the ethnic music function, but it is getting wider as time flies and globalization comes so it spread into hybrid sub – genres such as fusion world, global fushion and world beat ethnic. It develops by western style through media television and internet that automatically was taking over our original music identity. We lost our music, our identity on music because of the new music style of other country. Basically our reference and taste of music are depend on the basic willingness and behavior itself, and it affected by our culture which having changes because of the globalization process. We can see easily at how K-POP (Korean POP) comes to Indonesia and get a lot attention of Indonesian and give huge influences for Indonesian so we lost our origin while K-POP take the higher positions such as boyband, girlband and even movie actors. K-POP always produce something new and in the month scale they hold either mini or big concert, then instead of the music lyric from western which consist of inappropriate language, K-POP tend to use more polite and appropriate lyric that can be consumed by people from any level of age. The influences of Korean style are not only for the music tone but the language uses also directly changes. K-POP get higher selling production than Indonesia music production that still have the limit creativity than Korean.

After we see the development of culture today. We are even more interested in outside culture compared to our own culture. In fact, even foreigners like our culture a lot. After we know some of the factors above, let's love our culture more and develop it so that it is more interesting and growing in the world.
